Thinking back . . . Thinking back . . .
I first met you in 1996, Mike, at one of the supervision group sessions you used to run at Oving, where you immediately impressed me as a man of great wisdom and compassion - and the capacity to call a spade a spade if need arose. Almost at once I found myself on an inner journey of discovery, which I confess I had not expected. I thought I'd done all that.
And then you started teaching. I was on the very second course you ran. I remember you with piles of reference books around you, very apprehensive and unsure of yourself . . . and, already, an obviously gifted teacher. I have attended you courses, and had supervision with you, ever since, and not just my work but my whole life has been changed.
Thankyou, Mike. Thankyou for your teaching and your leadership. Thankyou for you great wisdom and compassion. We crossed swords a couple of times, as is right and proper between two men, but always with love and deep respect. And most of all, you dear old man, thankyou for being everlastingly and irreprssibly - Mike.
