BOBO 4.

The Bliss of Being Ordinary

An advanced training with Mike Boxhall exclusively for those who have completed the Embodiment of Spirit series.

The course has been redesigned after experience of the first running, partly but not exclusively, to accommodate people who have a long way to travel and will now consist of three modules of six days instead of six modules of three days.

These courses have been well received and several people have come back for more knowing that no two series will ever be the same.

The format will be that in each six day module, another teacher will present an approach to Spirituality from their own particular background and training during the first three days and Mike will attempt to ground that learning into the felt-sense in the body, in the second three days. This seems more immediate than leaving Mike to integrate the work at the end of the whole course, as was the case when the course was in six modules.

The two main thrusts of the course are to reinforce the concept that in deep level work, it is where we come from, rather than what we do, that is important and to see that other “roads to Rome “ are to be equally honoured. We are not special or exclusive. Rather, by being more expanded and aware of our relationship to each other and all things, we are truly ordinary. It is the sense of separation and exclusivity, that is pathological.

The course will be held at Duncton Mill. www.dunctonmill.co.uk An extraordinarily calm and beautiful site.

The dates will be:-

Part One 8th – 14th September 2008,
Part Two 8th – 14th December 2008
Part Three 16th – 22nd March 2009

The external teachers will be:

Dr James Low, Buddhist scholar, Spiritual teacher, Psychotherapist and Supervisor. Has a very wide-ranging knowledge of eastern spirituality and practice and also has a substantial in-sight into the deeper applications of Biodynamic CST. He is at the same time my supervisor, and external moderator at Karuna Institute on the MA in Psychotherapy training. He has a satisfactorily wicked sense of humour. James is becoming a permanent fixture!

Marlis Scholz, Marlis taught on a previous BOBO course and we all very much enjoyed her gentle and sensitive approach to the external world around us, which is also part of “who we really are”. She will work with us outdoors and what better place to do that than at Duncton Mill. “The ancient tradition of walking and collecting takes on a new dimension when you start working with materials to create pieces of art.. Absorbed in the creative process, we are brought back to the immediacy of the senses and to live in the present moment and to live in the presence of the moment.” MS. She was artist in residence at Myddleton House Garden,Lee Valley Regional Park in 2002. For the past five years she has been leading environmental art workshops for children and adults, including seasonal workshops on Hampstead Heath with Studio Upstairs (Diorama Disability Arts.)

Marc Woolford, Marc's approach to yoga practise places its emphasis on quality of attention and movement above achievement of postures. The principle being that when the right conditions are met, in that moment healing occurs, and the body/mind becomes whole and able to move with surprising simplicity and grace. "I believe Yoga is mostly about developing awareness so that we can respond intelligently to what is going on right now, rather than developing fixed responses that may not serve our current needs. When our actions become conscious, the insights we gain can transform the way we move, breathe, and eventually the way we live our lives... " Marc began practicing yoga at an early age, and has been a dedicated practitioner since 1993. He teaches regular workshops and retreats in the UK, (where he is a regular visitor to Duncton Mill), France, India and Thailand. www.yogawithmarc.com

Mike Boxhall. You know, I suppose.

I hope that it comes across that this mixture of people and their talents should facilitate our achieving something of the aims in the outline at the top of this document.

The all-inclusive cost for each six-day segment will be £650.00 and a £100 deposit will secure a place.

This document is addressed to people who are experienced practitioners and have in many cases, very busy lives. There will be time for meditation, rest and, I hope, quite a lot of fun. The food will be very good and the surroundings are outstandingly beautiful. There will be plenty of CSTs there if you want a session!!! We could also arrange a massage therapist and yoga in the early morning for a modest fee to the therapist/teacher.

Joining time would be about 5 pm on the first day and leaving after lunch on the last day. Full directions are in www.dunctonmill.co.uk
